DeWalt

Overview Of DeWalt Power Tools

The DeWalt power tool company was founded in 1920 by Raymond E. Dewalt who invented the world’s first radial arm saw. The company grew very quickly from it’s inception, and mainly specialised in stationary woodworking tools.

The company was acquired by American Machine & Foundry Co., Inc. in 1947 and then onsold to Black and Decker in 1960.

As of 1992, DeWalt became Black and Decker’s high-end power tool brand, specifically marketed to those who demand only the best from their equipment.

DeWalt is currently one of the world’s leading manufacturers of professional power tools and arguably the most popular power tool brand in the USA. They produce more than 200 different power tools and 800 accessories, with only a relatively small selection of these products available in Australia.
